Humble Response to Jesus' Birth
Responding to Jesus’ Birth
The response of the shepherds following the spectacular announcement of Jesus’ birth by the angel choir was marked by urgent excitement!
NAU Luke 2:15 When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, "Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us." 16 So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger. 17 When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child.
Immediately after the angels departed – “When…”
They determined to leave to find Jesus at once – “straight to Bethlehem”
They were in a hurry – why delay? – “came in a hurry” = after hurrying off…
They followed every lead in located Jesus – “found their way” is a search and discovery process
They openly shared with other what had happened to them – “they made known”
How about you?
